We shall visit two lovely private gardens, Offham House and The Rectory.
Offham House is a new visit for us, and it is heaven. A quintessential English garden combining formal symmetry with romantic informality. There are roses and marvellous trees, to say nothing of Mr. McGregor’s greenhouse and, elsewhere, his vegetable patch!
We visited The Rectory in 2022, but, as with all good gardens, it is ever evolving and last year a pond was introduced to attract aquatic wildlife. To greet these new friends, stickleback arrived via Royal Mail (!!), as did Swan Mussels, and by June many other friends will have taken up residence – think dragon flies…and Birthday cake to celebrate our 100th anniversary!
