2025 AGM followed by a talk on “Roses Revisited – the old, the new and what to do” by writer and plantswoman, Gillian Taylor. Gillian is a member of an RHS Trials Forum and an International Rose Trials judge. Gillian will tell us how her love for roses developed and how her own collection rapidly grew to include over 250 varieties. She will talk about the different types of roses, their suitability in garden settings and best methods for cultivation.

Talk on “Parham Gardens – moving forwards” by Andrew Humphris, Head Gardener at Parham. Andrew will speak about his career in horticulture, followed by a brief history of Parham with a particular look at the walled garden and the process the gardeners are going through to eradicate bindweed, along with the new planting that is taking place.

Talk by Izzy McKinley, Senior Kitchen Gardener at Arundel Castle Gardens. Izzy will speak about the organic kitchen garden at the Castle including crop rotation, propagation, and some useful tips!

Talk by Martin Jarvis of Culberry Nursery, Angmering, about the nursery and its history. Founded in Dappers Lane in 1948, the nursery measured 8 acres and supplied many of the market gardens in London. Today it measures 4 acres and specialises in herbs, both culinary and medicinal, of which some 200 varieties are stocked.
